Job summary

Gregory Electric Company, Inc. is seeking a semi-skilled Utility Heavy Equipment Operator and Excavator for Charleston, SC. You will perform construction, maintenance, and repair of underground distribution systems while safely operating heavy equipment and following directions.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, using radios and industry software, and applying OSHA safety standards. CDL A is preferred or obtainable; eligible for overtime and a drug-free workplace.

Qualifications

• Read and understand blueprints, work orders, and procedures.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment safely in underground work.
• Understand OSHA guidelines and safety rules.
• Possess CDL A or ability to obtain; clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of underground distribution systems when de-energized.
• Operate dump trucks, backhoes, trenchers, and mini-excavators proficiently.
• Identify material sizes/types for pre-assembly and rigging.
• Follow safety rules and participate in random drug/alcohol testing.
