Job summary
Carolinaconduit is seeking an experienced Utilities Excavator Operator in Charleston, SC to perform trench work and conduit installation on active construction sites. You will operate excavators and loaders, read site plans, and coordinate with the crew to meet grades and specifications.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and comfortable working in confined spaces such as manholes. OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus, and you will perform routine equipment maintenance and support
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating excavators on utility projects.
- Familiarity with conduit installation and trenching.
- Ability to read and follow site plans and specifications.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces such as manholes.
- Strong knowledge of equipment safety and maintenance.
- OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and loaders for trenching and conduit installation
- Dig trenches to required depths and grades with precision
- Install underground conduit in coordination with utility plans
- Safely enter and work within manholes when required
- Load and move materials around the job site
- Ensure job site safety and compliance with OSHA standards
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment
- Assist with general labor and site clean-up as needed
