Job summary

Dynamic Office & Accounting Solutions seeks an Estimator for an underground utility construction environment. You will drive accurate bids for wet and dry work, collaborating with field and leadership teams to win work while protecting margins through cost analysis and risk review.

Responsibilities include creating takeoffs, pricing, RFIs, and schedule inputs; using tools like Excel, MS Project, and Primavera; and coordinating with subcontractors to ensure clear scopes and timely submissions.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or comparable hands-on experience that translates to strong estimating judgment.
• Experience estimating civil, utility, and/or wet/dry projects, with underground construction experience (water, sewer, storm drain, and dry utilities) required.
• Public works or municipal bidding experience required.
• Working knowledge of estimating software (HCSS, Bid2Win, Hard Dollar or similar) and comfort producing schedules in Excel, MS Project, and/or Primavera.

Responsibilities

• Build competitive estimates for underground utility and civil projects, focusing on wet/dry utilities.
• Break down plans and specs into clear takeoffs, pricing, and proposal strategies.
• Prepare RFIs, submittals, and schedule inputs to strengthen bid quality.
• Price excavation and shoring needs aligned with contract requirements and field conditions.
• Develop cost models with safety, environmental, and permitting considerations at multiple levels.
• Validate labor and material pricing and assemble bid inputs including crews, equipment, materials, and subs.
• Use estimating platforms (HCSS, Bid2Win, Hard Dollar) and scheduling tools (Excel, MS Project, Primavera).
• Solicit and integrate subcontractor proposals; communicate scopes and timelines clearly.
• Represent the team with clients and agencies, including pre-bid meetings and job walks.
• Flag risk early and suggest bids adjustments during reviews.
