Job summary

Karvo Companies in Northeast Ohio is seeking an experienced Underground Utilities Superintendent to lead field operations on heavy civil construction projects. You will manage underground utility installations, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and ensure work is performed safely, on schedule, and to spec.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong knowledge of sanitary sewer, storm sewer, waterlines, and read-and-interpret construction plans.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience supervising underground utility construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of sanitary sewer, storm sewer, waterline, excavation and grading operations.
• Proven leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Experience coordinating multiple crews and subcontractors.
• OSHA knowledge preferred; safety-minded approach.
• Valid driver�s license required.
• Experience supervising projects for owners such as ODOT, cities or counties.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations for underground utility projects, including sanitary sewer, storm sewer, waterline, and related site work.
• Lead and coordinate crews, subcontractors, and equipment to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on every job site.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and owners to ensure quality work and successful project delivery.
• Plan daily work activities, manage production, and solve field challenges as they arise.
• Monitor project progress, manpower, equipment, and materials.
• Ensure all work is completed according to plans, specifications, and company standards.
