Job summary

Karvo Companies, Inc in Ohio is seeking an experienced Construction / Underground Utilities Estimator to join our growing team. You will prepare accurate estimates for underground utilities and heavy civil projects, review plans, and develop complete bid packages.

The role requires strong knowledge of earthwork, utility installation, and bid documents, plus proficiency with HCSS Estimating and MS Office. You will collaborate with project managers and field teams throughout the bidding process

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction or underground utilities.
• Strong knowledge of underground utility installation, earthwork, and site development.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Experience with HCSS Estimating Software and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
• Experience with bid projects on ODOT, City, or County.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for underground utility and heavy civil construction projects.
• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop complete project estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for sanitary sewer, storm sewer, waterline, excavation, grading, and related site work.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Develop project budgets and cost analysis.
• Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, and leadership throughout the bidding process.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and potential project risks.
