Job summary

USIC Locating Services, LLC is seeking Drop Bury Technicians for field locations in the Battle Creek area. The role involves locating underground utilities at residential or commercial sites, then burying cable lines while ensuring safety and accuracy.

You will work with maps, prints, and locating equipment, documenting each locate with photos and records. The position emphasizes outdoor work, independent problem solving, and strong customer interaction to ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Proficiency with locating equipment and interpretation of records.
• Ability to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive role).
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Basic computer use and field reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicle to outdoor job sites and perform locates and drop bury tickets.
• Reference records, maps, and prints to locate and mark underground facilities.
• Utilize locating equipment and follow procedures for accurate locates.
• Operate digging equipment or hand tools to trench or bore 6-8 inches deep.
• Use smartphone and software to record time and locate details for billing.
• Adhere to safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
• Take photos and complete documentation for each locate and bury job.
• Check equipment and supplies daily to ensure readiness.
• Coordinate with utility reps, contractors, and property owners.
