Job summary

USIC, a national leader in underground utility damage prevention, is seeking a Drop Bury Technician in Grand Rapids, MI. You will locate underground utilities and perform drop bury operations on residential and commercial sites, using maps and records to mark facilities and trenching 6–8 inches deep.

The role requires outdoor work, a valid driver's license, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and strong attention to safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods of time.
• “Computer proficiency” not required here.
• Must pass a drug screen and have a safe driving record.
• Ability to walk long distances, bend, kneel, and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read locate tickets, maps and prints.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicle to outdoor job sites and perform locates and drop bury tickets.
• Locate and mark underground facilities using records, maps, and prints.
• Operate digging equipment or hand tools to trench or bore 6–8 inches.
• Take photos and complete documentation for billing and compliance.
• Adhere to safety procedures including OSHA guidelines.
