Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5+ years underground utility construction with 2+ years supervisory experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and specs.
• CDL preferred; valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Operate heavy equipment used in underground construction.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Supervise crews in installation, maintenance and repair of underground utilities.
• Ensure safety regulations and OSHA standards are followed; conduct safety briefings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and project plans.
• Plan daily work schedules; assign tasks and monitor progress.
• Operate excavators, backhoes, trenchers, and loaders as needed.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers and stakeholders to resolve on-site issues.
• Conduct quality control inspections to meet standards and specs.
• Manage material inventory and order supplies to prevent delays.
• Maintain accurate daily reports on progress, equipment usage and hours.
• Train and mentor crew members; foster a skilled team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve construction-related problems.
