Job summary

Westwood Professional Services seeks a collaborative, detail-oriented Underground Transmission Designer to join our Transmission Engineering Group in Austin, Texas. You will draft civil and electrical drawings and contribute to energy infrastructure projects, working with engineers to develop underground transmission design concepts and documentation.

You will perform CAD drafting, review drawings, and ensure compliance with industry standards while managing multiple projects and meeting

Qualifications

• Associate's or technical degree in drafting, engineering, or related field.
• 5+ yrs. of CAD experience, AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D in electric utility industry.
• Knowledge of industry standards and general design practices.
• Excellent Verbal & Written Communications skills.
• Ability to invite and accept constructive feedback.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Products including Excel, Word, and Power Point.
• Ability to function in a team environment and culture of cooperation and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Draft engineering drawings and deliverables in CAD.
• Collaborate with engineers to correct discrepancies in drawings and designs.
• Complete engineering design tasks under supervision of engineering staff.
• Self-checks all work for accuracy before review.
• Meet project schedules and quality requirements.
• Deliver high quality deliverables meeting industry standards.
• Provide innovative solutions and problem solving.
• Handle multiple projects concurrently and adapt to changes in assignments.
• Assist in project delivery including meetings and documentation.
• Provide interdepartmental support as required.
