Job summary

Wolverine Fuels, LLC, headquartered in Sandy, UT, seeks a Survey Technician to perform underground survey placement and CAD-assisted drafting for mining operations. You will support both underground and surface construction layouts and provide regular volumetric and projection maps.

The role requires experience in underground coal mining and surveying, familiarity with total stations and data collectors, and strong organizational skills. On-site work with rotating shifts is expected.

Qualifications

  • Underground coal mining experience a plus.
  • Surveying experience surface/underground.
  • Familiarity with total station and data collectors.
  • Strong surveying fundamentals and calculation techniques.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Excel and Word.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct underground check surveys as needed.
  • Assist layout, design and installation of construction activities underground and surface.
  • Prepare monthly volumetric assessments of mined areas and stockpiled tonnage.
  • Prepare monthly mining projection maps with pillar sizes and centerlines.
  • Interface daily with underground supervisors.
  • Perform surface surveying including boundary descriptions and exploration support.
  • Prepare and maintain all surveying records and drawings.
  • Work split or extended shifts periodically.
