Job summary

Sawtooth Mining seeks a Surveyor for the Thacker Pass project to conduct ground and UAV surveys, process data, and support AutoCAD drafting for mining operations. The role involves installing and troubleshooting machine control systems to ensure accurate positioning and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of post-secondary education in civil engineering technology or surveying.
• Experience with field data collection using GPS and traditional surveying equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collect field data using GPS and traditional surveying equipment.
• Establish control and targets for aerial surveys.
• Pilot UAS for aerial surveys and process data to produce topographic maps and quantities.
• Perform CAD applications such as volume computations, haul/ramp designs, and 3-D modeling.
• Manage data in spreadsheets and prepare monthly reports and maps.
• Construction staking of haul roads, ponds, boundaries, etc.
• Draft using AutoCAD for mapping, mine plans, and permitting.
