We are looking for an Underground Senior Health and Safety (H&S) Supervisor to join our construction management team and play a key role in driving our safety culture to the next level.

In this vital position, you will oversee all health and safety aspects of our underground construction operations. You will work closely with contractors, subcontractors, and site leadership to ensure full compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and site-specific protocols. More importantly, you will be instrumental in fostering a proactive, accountable, and safety-first mindset across the board.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion a strong safety culture by promoting accountability and proactive risk management
• Support contractors and subcontractors to align with site safety standards
• Ensure full compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and company-specific health and safety requirements
• Conduct hazard assessments and develop effective mitigation plans for ongoing construction activities
• Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Safe Work Procedures (SWPs)
• Lead site-specific safety orientations and deliver impactful safety training sessions
• Conduct regular toolbox talks, safety inspections, and audits
• Investigate safety incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and lead corrective actions
• Collaborate with the Site H&S Superintendent on major incident investigations
• Oversee emergency preparedness, including equipment, drills, and coordination with medical teams
• Track and report safety performance metrics and communicate updates to key stakeholders
  
  

What You Bring

• 7+ years of experience in health and safety roles within mining, construction, or heavy industrial settings
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
• Proven experience in underground operations
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA and MSHA 30 regulations
• Strong background in audits, incident investigations, and risk management
• Confident in leading safety training sessions and building a culture of safety
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s or Technical Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
• Safety certifications such as CHST, CSP, or CRSP (highly desirable)
