Job summary

Barrick Mining Corporation seeks a Safety and Health (S&H) Specialist for the Fourmile Project in Nevada. The role focuses on developing safety strategies, mentoring site management, and ensuring compliance with MSHA and federal standards to keep every employee safe and healthy.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial hygiene, incident investigations, and corrective action programs, with lead responsibilities across safety initiatives and training sessions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or Associate degree with extensive experience in safety standards (8–12 years)
• MSHA Blue Card Instructor preferred
• Strong knowledge of the Federal Mine Safety & Health Act of 1977
• Experience with incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop corrective actions

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical advisor and mentor to site management to develop strategies to control immediate risks.
• Participate in inspections and audits to identify conditions and corrective actions.
• Maintain IH/S&H plan overview for assigned area.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/company standards; accompany MSHA/state inspectors.
• Assist with health testing and IH activities.
• Investigate incidents to determine root cause and develop corrective actions.
• Maintain documentation in databases and support risk assessments.
• Provide mentoring and participate in safety meetings and trainings.
• Develop and instruct MSHA topics during training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
