Job summary

Barrick is seeking a Geology Technician for its Fourmile operations in Nevada. The role supports mining operations with a focus on safety, accuracy in handling drill core, and efficient sample management.

As part of the Geology Department, you will train teammates, maintain inventory, and ensure timely laboratory shipments, contributing to Barrick’s safety-first culture and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety and environmental policies and practices.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles.
• Ability to work within a team environment.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated safe work habits and ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
• Capable of lifting 30lbs repetitively and 50lbs for short periods.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safety leadership and safety consciousness.
• Task train coworkers in the safe and efficient use of equipment.
• Manage the sample inventory and related warehouse material safely.
• Record new materials placed into storage and understand storage locations.
• Complete daily workplace inspections and correct issues within capability.
• Photograph drill core accurately with natural colors and minimal distortion.
• Coordinate shipments to laboratories and complete required forms accurately.
• Identify naming and numbering errors in sample handling procedures.
• Read material retrieval requests, collect materials, and ship accordingly.
• Participate in safety audits, training, and scheduling.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Geology Department.
