Job summary

VetJobs is seeking a Groundman to support the construction and maintenance of underground electrical distribution systems. You will assist your team, report to the Foreman, and perform physical labor with safety as a priority.

This on-site role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license (CDL within 60 days preferred), willingness to travel, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and readiness for long hours including weekends and emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School/GED is required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work extended hours including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Assist in construction, maintenance, and repair of underground distribution systems with safety as a priority.
• Help install and repair underground facilities and related hardware.
• Operate and maintain excavation equipment such as backhoes, trenchers, and excavators.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and storms.
• Be available for outages, storms, emergencies, including on-call rotations.
• Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
