Job summary

Garney is hiring a Pipelayer in Ramseur, NC to assemble, install and repair underground pipes and fittings for water, sewer and drain work. Must have experience with large diameter pipes and ability to read blueprints and use pipe lasers.

You will prepare trenches, assist operators, set up valves and test pipes; required to travel locally and work overtime. Training certs such as Rigging and Signaling, Confined Space, OSHA 10 hour are provided.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience installing large diameter pipes for water, sewer, storm drain.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the area for pipe laying by directing trenching and grading.
• Perform laborer functions as required.
• Assist equipment Operators in placement of pipe.
• Direct equipment Operators with hand signals.
• Backfill around pipe with hand tools.
• Set up and work with pipe lasers and transits.
• Locate and mark pipe positions in trenches.
• Assemble and install valves, fittings and pipe.
• Joins pipes with screws, bolts, fittings, solder or solvent cement.
• Test pipes for leakage.
