Qualifications

• Experience with underground utilities and pipe installation.
• Ability to read blueprints and project drawings.
• Familiarity with trench safety and OSHA regulations.
• Physically capable of heavy lifting and outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Lay and install underground piping including storm drains and water mains.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specs and project plans.
• Perform excavation and trenching following OSHA safety rules.
• Ensure alignment and sealing of pipes using measuring tools.
• Connect pipes using sealing joints, welding, or fittings.
• Backfill trenches and restore work areas after installation.
• Operate hand and power tools for pipe work.
• Coordinate with operators, foremen and crew for smooth installation.
• Troubleshoot leaks or misalignments in pipelines.
• Maintain a clean, safe worksite and comply with regulations.
• Assist rigging and setting heavy pipes with hoists or cranes.
