Job summary

The Lemoine Company, LLC is seeking a Pipelayer to join our Civil Group on challenging infrastructure projects in Louisiana. You will lay, install, and maintain underground piping systems for water, sewer, and storm drainage, reading blueprints and following safety regulations.

You will work with a team to ensure accurate installation, proper alignment, and timely project completion. The role requires physical stamina and adherence to OSHA standards in varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in underground utilities, pipeline installation, or a similar construction trade.
• Understanding of pipe materials (PVC, concrete, ductile iron, HDPE, etc.), trench safety, and pipe-laying techniques.
• Familiarity with trench boxes, pipe lasers, and compaction equipment.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, survey stakes, and project drawings.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards related to excavation and underground construction.
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs., bend, kneel, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
• Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Certifications (Preferred): OSHA 10 or 30, Confined Space Entry, trench safety training.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Lay and install underground piping, including storm drains, sanitary sewer lines, and water mains.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans to determine pipe installation requirements.
• Perform excavation and trenching activities following OSHA safety regulations.
• Ensure proper alignment, grade, and sealing of pipes using lasers, levels, and other measuring equipment.
• Connect pipes using sealing joints, welding, or using gaskets and fittings.
• Backfill trenches and restore work areas upon completion of installations.
• Operate hand and power tools such as pipe saws, tampers, and trench shoring equipment.
• Work closely with equipment operators, foremen, and laborers for smooth installation.
• Troubleshoot and repair pipeline issues such as leaks or misalignments.
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite, complying with safety and environmental regulations.
• Assist in rigging and setting heavy pipes into place using hoists, cranes, or other lifting equipment.
• Adhere to company policies, safety guidelines, and project deadlines.
