Job summary

LEMOINE, a Great Place to Work®-Certified company, is seeking a Pipelayer to join our civil construction team. The role focuses on assembling and maintaining underground piping systems for water, sewer, and storm drainage while reading blueprints and adhering to safety regulations.

Responsibilities include trenching, pipe installation, backfilling, and coordinating with operators and foremen to ensure precise, safe installations across projects.

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years in underground utilities or pipeline installation.
• Ability to read blueprints, survey stakes, and project drawings.
• Knowledge of pipe materials (PVC, concrete, ductile iron, HDPE).
• OSHA safety standards related to excavation/underground construction.
• Must lift 50+ lbs and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lay and install underground piping (storm drains, sanitary sewer, water mains).
• Read and interpret blueprints and project plans to determine installation requirements.
• Perform excavation and trenching following OSHA regulations.
• Ensure correct alignment, grade, and sealing using lasers and levels.
• Connect pipes via sealing joints, welding, or fittings.
• Backfill trenches and restore work areas after installation.
• Operate hand and power tools (pipe saws, tampers, trench shoring).
• Collaborate with equipment operators, foremen, and laborers for smooth installs.
• Troubleshoot leaks or misalignments in pipelines.
• Maintain clean, safe worksite compliant with safety/env regulations.
• Assist in rigging and setting heavy pipes with hoists or cranes.
• Adhere to company policies, safety guidelines, and deadlines.
