Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation is seeking an Underground Miner to extract ore and operate heavy mining equipment in underground sections. The role involves heading inspections, drilling, mucking, and bolting, while adhering to strict safety standards and protocols.

The incumbent will work within a team, communicate effectively, and participate in a rotating day/night schedule. Ideal candidates will have underground mining experience, a solid understanding of safety practices, strong problem-solving

Qualifications

• Previous underground mining experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of mining practices and safety procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and quick decision-making in changing situations.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with mining team.
• Flexibility to work long hours underground.
• Willing to join Underground Mine Rescue Team.

Responsibilities

• Heading inspections and scaling down loose.
• Operate mining equipment (Drills, Muckers, Trucks, Bolters).
• Follow strict safety procedures and protocols.
• Inspect equipment and machinery for proper function and maintenance needs.
• Safely operate mining equipment and work safely and efficiently.
• Rotate between day and night shifts as required.
