Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation is seeking a capable blast-hole driller to operate a production drill in our active mine environment. You will follow standard operating procedures, prioritize safety, and align daily tasks with Kinross values while delivering on production goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years experience operating blast hole production drill rigs (e.g., Pit Viper 231/271, DML).
• Good understanding of DTH and rotary drilling.
• Ability to read and follow drilling instructions, maps and pre/post shift reports.
• Familiar with GPS/Jigsaw navigation or similar systems.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates drill to achieve production goals.
• Prepares and maintains drilling paperwork and reports.
• Performs pre-shift inspections and monitors gauges.
• Inspects work areas for hazards and reports issues.
• Maintains logs of bits, hammers, breakdowns, maps and drill patterns.
• Drills accurately to stake depth and collects samples as needed.
• Operates drill support water trucks as required.
• Assists the blast crew and performs minor maintenance.
• Adheres to safety, confidentiality and environmental policies.
• Willing to work shift work, overtime, holidays and weekends.
