Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation is seeking an Underground Miner for our operations in the United States. The role focuses on underground construction, Bull Gang activities, utility installation, and equipment operation to support mine development with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

The candidate will perform a wide range of underground tasks, maintain equipment, and coordinate with the Mine Supervisor to ensure efficient startup and ongoing operations.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of underground mining or underground mine construction experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain MSHA Part 48 Underground Miner certification.
• Ability to safely operate underground mobile equipment.
• Experience operating underground utility equipment.
• Knowledge of underground pumping and ventilation systems.
• Strong understanding of underground mining safety practices and hazard recognition.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate underground mobile equipment including loaders, scissor decks, telehandlers, and other underground support equipment.
• Complete pre-operational inspections and pre-shift examinations.
• Maintain equipment in safe operating condition and report safety concerns.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow safety policies.
• Identify and safely scale loose ground and underground hazards.
• Perform underground utility work including installation of air, water, and discharge lines.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and coordinate restocking with shifters.
• Maintain tools and equipment under lock and key.
• Use hand tools safely and proficiently.
• Coordinate daily activities with Mine Supervisor and other departments.
• Complete workplace inspections and documentation accurately.
• Assist with changing priorities during startup and maintain high standards.
