Job summary

Compass Minerals is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain underground mobile equipment and mining infrastructure in an underground salt mine. The role includes installing and servicing fixed plant assets, reading schematics, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will work with equipment from Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere and others in a challenging environment. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 5 years of maintenance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or completion of an apprenticeship or trade program.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance in industrial/mining environments.
• Basic knowledge of mobile electrical and hydraulic systems and their troubleshooting.
• Experience with welding and fabrication of structures is preferred.
• Ability to read schematics and maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain underground mobile equipment and mining infrastructure.
• Install, repair, and maintain mine and surface fixed assets.
• Lubricate plants and equipment on a routine schedule.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment from multiple brands (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu).
• Read and interpret hydraulic/electrical diagrams and parts manuals.
• Ensure safety rules and MSHA regulations are followed.
