Job summary

Navarro Research & Engineering is seeking a Mine and Hoisting Engineer/Tech Cons III to provide comprehensive field oversight of underground mining operations at the WIPP site. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and equipment integrity in a nuclear facility environment.

The position is permanent, full-time with a 4/10 schedule and onsite four days per week at the WIPP site. Candidates should have a BS in a physical science or engineering and extensive mining/hoisting experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in physical science, engineering, a technical discipline, or related field.
• 10+ years of specialized mining and hoisting experience or equivalent demonstrated knowledge.
• US citizenship is required for government contracting work.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive field oversight of underground mining operations to ensure DOE/MSHA/ASME compliance.
• Oversee hoisting, rigging, and lifting operations with emphasis on construction safety and equipment integrity.
• Review radiological surveys, training records, procedures, and maintenance documentation for safety and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to underground traffic patterns, ground control, and emergency procedures.
• Document field observations and support resolution of safety, equipment, and operational issues.
