Job summary

Northern Star Resources Limited is seeking a Mining Engineer for Pogo Mine in Alaska. The role focuses on designing underground drift and fill stope layouts, producing short- and medium-term schedules, and ensuring safe, compliant operations at the remote site.

Ideal candidates bring a mining engineering degree, MSHA knowledge, and 2+ years of underground mining experience, with strong communication and safety emphasis. On-site camp and company travel support are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or related field.
• Strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Generate and implement underground drift and fill stope designs.
• Create short- and medium-term production schedules.
• Present weekly schedules to mine operations and geology teams.
• Establish ventilation network designs and paste backfill plans.
• Develop ground control and support designs.
• Perform financial evaluations for projects.
• Identify and address safety hazards.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
