Job summary

Morton Salt is seeking individuals for positions that support underground mining operations. The roles may be filled as Production Miner or Mine Support, with training and responsibilities adjusted accordingly.

The positions involve operating light and heavy equipment, following MSHA safety protocols, and performing routine inspections and paperwork. Pay is determined by the job assignment and shift, with opportunities to contribute to safe, efficient production.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent educational experience.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Must be able to apply for an ATF license through Morton Salt.
• Able to work independently and as an active member of a team.
• Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management.

Responsibilities

• Complete required operational and MSHA safety training.
• Perform pre-operation equipment inspections and document findings.
• Safely operate each required machine and consistently meet production standards.
• Clean, grease, oil, and service machines; make minor repairs/adjustments as assigned and assist mechanics with major repairs as directed.
• Complete required paperwork (inspection sheets, timecards, production logs, and shift reports).
• Work independently throughout the shift while coordinating with supervisors and teammates as needed.
• Identify and address safety hazards and equipment issues; report concerns immediately.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
