Job summary

Sunshine is seeking a Mine Geologist I to support underground mining operations through geological interpretation, data collection, 3D modeling, and collaboration with engineering and operations teams. This role maintains accurate geological information and supports drilling programs, aiding daily operations and long-term planning both underground and in the office.

You will work to ensure safe, environmentally compliant practices while handling geological data, grade control, and mapping under

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in geology or geological engineering from an accredited four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in exploration or mine production geology preferred.
  • Underground experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote safe and environmentally compliant work activities at all times.
  • Input, manage, and maintain geological and drilling data for ongoing programs.
  • Assist with geologic project work related to interpretation and understanding of the complex geology of the deposit.
  • Performs grade control and sampling, geologic mapping, and provide geologic guidance in both production and development areas.
  • Monitor QA/QC data and procedures.
  • Assist with drilling activities including core handling, core logging, sample preparation, and core photos.
  • Demonstrates required behavioral skills including productive communication with employees at all levels, cooperation, productivity, initiative, creativity, and dependability.
  • Comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations; follow safety, health, environmental, HR, and sustainable development guidelines.
