Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation seeks an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of mechanics in a safe, efficient mine maintenance program. You will assign crews, supervise daily tasks, and ensure availability of parts and tools while coordinating with operations on maintenance, capital and construction projects.

Five years of heavy equipment experience in mining or construction and at least three years of direct supervisory experience are required.

Qualifications

• Foster team spirit to meet production goals while prioritizing safety.
• Minimum 5 years heavy equipment experience in mining/construction.
• Knowledge of CFRs relating to underground mining equipment and practices.
• Strong emphasis on Planned/Scheduled work practices.
• Supervises employees per Kinross/RMGC policies.
• Able to adapt to constant shift changes.
• General understanding of mining operations and maintenance basics.
• Knowledge of equipment such as Jumbos, Bolters, Underground Trucks, Loaders.
• Proficient with PC software: word processing, spreadsheet, dispatch, Outlook, JD Edwards.
• Strong training, verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, management, vendors and contractors.
• Independent worker and effective team member.
• Strong administrative, organizational, and technical writing skills.
• Comply with physical demands sheets.
• Underground mine rescue team experience preferred.
• Experience with underground equipment parts vendors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign crews to tasks to meet daily maintenance goals and Kinross Way for Maintenance.
• Supervise crew activities during shifts for safe, efficient work.
• Develop crew skills for maximum efficiency and safety.
• Ensure parts/tools/equipment are available before tasks.
• Maintain records and daily schedules of work performed.
