You will assist with trenches, cables, conduits and equipment, learn from blueprints, and participate in a multi-year program emphasizing safety and hands-on skill development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL Class A preferred or ability to obtain within timeframe.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and commit to a multi-year apprenticeship.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist journey-level lineworkers with installation, repair, and maintenance of underground cables, conduits, and equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical diagrams.
• Operate trenchers, backhoes, and cable pullers used in underground utility work.
• Perform trenching, excavation, and backfilling tasks.
• Adhere to safety regulations and PPE requirements.
• Participate in apprenticeship trainings and complete required coursework.
• Assist with troubleshooting underground electrical issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Job Overview:R B Hinkle Construction Inc. is seeking a dedicated Underground Linework Apprentice to join our team in Sterling, Virginia.
