Job summary

R.B. Hinkle Construction Inc. in Sterling, Virginia is hiring Equipment Operators and CDL Class A/B Drivers to support underground utility construction.

The roles involve safe operation of heavy equipment and transporting materials to and from job sites. Successful candidates will have CDL A or B, 2–3 years of heavy equipment experience, and the ability to pass a drug screen and background check. Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B with a clean driving record.
• 2–3 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs) and work in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation to Sterling, VA office/yard.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Reading and interpreting project plans/blueprints is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dozers, rollers, graders) safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections and daily maintenance checks.
• Transport materials and equipment to and from job sites using CDL-licensed vehicles.
• Follow traffic laws, safety policies, and company procedures.
• Load/unload materials, assist with general labor on sites as needed.
• Communicate with supervisors and teammates and maintain a clean work area.
• Identify and report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Follow project plans and specifications as directed.
