Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL Class A preferred or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments, including lifting heavy objects, digging, and working in confined spaces.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and commit to a multi-year apprenticeship program.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Prior experience in construction or related fields is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist journey-level lineworkers with installation, repair, and maintenance of underground electrical cables, conduits, and equipment.
• Learn to identify and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical diagrams.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in underground utility work, including trenchers, backhoes, and cable pullers.
• Perform duties related to trenching, excavation, and backfilling.
• Adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and procedures, including proper PPE use.
• Participate in training programs and complete required coursework to advance through the apprenticeship program.
• Assist with troubleshooting and diagnosis of underground electrical issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
