Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Geologist for the Turquoise Ridge Underground mine to lead drill programs, de-risk the mine plan, and grow reserves and resources. The role emphasizes teamwork with a diverse group of geologists, technical staff, and diamond drillers in a safety-focused environment.

Required is a BS in Geology or Geological Engineering, 3+ years in underground geology, and experience with Deswik, Leapfrog, and Acquire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Geology or related field is required.
• Minimum three years' experience in underground mine geology.
• Experience leading technical teams with strong interdepartmental communication.
• Familiarity with Deswik, Leapfrog, and Acquire software preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in writing and speaking.
• Safety leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Drive zero harm workplace through stop work responsibility and other safety programs in place.
• Build and maintain collaborative internal relationships with key departments (Engineering, Operations, Process, Environment, Growth, Exploration, Safety and Finance).
• Build on technical knowledge for geological mapping, drilling, and logging programs. Ensure best practices are utilized, understood, and followed.
• Weekly underground and surface field work and drill inspections.
• Design, implement, track, drill programs and interpret results, mentor and train junior geologists.
• Engage with resource team to ensure accurate, fit for purpose geological models and mineral estimations are provided, ensuring that all available data are leveraged to maximize value in every model.
• Participate in the design, preparation and implementation of proposals, cost tracking, cost estimates and expenditure requests for production drill programs.
