Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking an Underground Foreman to lead field crews on outdoor utility projects and coordinate construction activities, travel, and scheduling. This role emphasizes safety, hands-on problem solving, and crew mentorship in a dynamic field environment.

The position is a temp-to-hire, travel-based role with typical 6-day weeks, long hours, and per diem support. Compliance with California labor laws and strong teamwork are essential to success.

Compensation of $30-$36 per hour, depending on the experience.

Additional details:

• Overtime pay will be provided in accordance with California labor laws, at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate for hours worked over 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a workweek
• The schedule is typically 6 days per week, 10-12 hours per day; Crews may travel one week at a time, occasionally extended stays up to two weeks before returning home for a break
• Per diem includes hotel + $50 for food
• Rest and Meal Breaks will be compensated for paid rest periods and granted unpaid meal breaks in accordance with California labor laws
• Your employment with MasTec is “at-will,” meaning either you or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice
