Job summary

MB HAYNES Corporation in Asheville, NC seeks an Underground Foreman for on-call rotation to supervise the underground utility crew. You will install, remove, and wire underground power distribution, including new infrastructure, repairs, and upgrades, plus service drops from poles to customers’ premises and switchgear.

You will train apprentices, prepare reports, submit timekeeping, and lead job briefings as needed. Prior underground power experience and CDL are required.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen required.
• CDL Class A or B license or permit and current DOT medical card required.
• Underground power distribution experience; leadership experience preferred.

Position Summary

THIS POSITION MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE ON-CALL ROTATION. The Underground Foreman will supervise and coordinate the underground utility crew. This position will be responsible for installing, removing, and wiring of underground electric power distribution to include: new infrastructure as well as repairs to existing lines, upgrades, installing service drop lines from poles to customers’ premises, switchgears, and line installations. The Foreman will also help train and develop apprentices on the job, prepare reports, submit timekeeping, and job briefings as needed.

Requirements

• Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid Class A or B CDL license or permit and current valid DOT physical required.
• Previous experience in underground power distribution required.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Safe driving record.
• Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance.
• Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen on the jobsite, inspectors, customers, and the public.
• Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds.
• Set an example with proper use of safety equipment and PPE.
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools.
