MB HAYNES Corporation in Asheville NC invites motivated individuals to join our team as an entry-level helper supporting crews in constructing and maintaining traffic signal, roadway lighting systems. This role prepares job sites, handles tools and materials, and helps keep work zones safe and efficient.

You will learn basic electrical concepts, assist with pole framing, conduit work, and equipment handling under supervision while upholding safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Positive, cooperative attitude with excellent attendance.
• Ability to work with others and get along with coworkers, inspectors, customers, and the public.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and use safety equipment properly.
• Thorough knowledge of basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up and maintaining safe work zones, including flagging traffic, signs, and cones.
• Load, unload and organize tools, equipment and materials.
• Pull ropes and guide electrical cables during installation.
• Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
• Clean and maintain tools, vehicles and work areas.
• Assist with framing poles, installing hardware and preparing underground conduit.
• Dig holes and trenches using manual or powered tools.
• Dispose of old equipment and debris from job sites.
• Observe and follow safety procedures and company regulations.
• Learn and apply basic knowledge of electrical systems and utility operations.
• Report equipment issues or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.

Position Summary

Assist crews in the construction maintenance and repair of overhead and underground traffic signalroadway lighting systems

This entry level position supports crew members by preparing job sites handling tools and materials and ensuring worksite safety and efficiency
