Job summary

MB HAYNES CORPORATION, headquartered in Asheville, NC, seeks a skilled ground worker/driver to support streetlight, traffic signal, and utility projects. The role involves driving trucks to job sites, unloading materials, and assisting with installation, maintenance, and repair of power infrastructure.

You will dig trenches, lay conduits, pour concrete for pole foundations, and help embed loop detectors. The ideal candidate has a valid CDL (Class A or B), DOT medical, and experience operating

Qualifications

• Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid Class A or B CDL and current valid DOT physical required.
• Previous signal/lighting experience a plus.
• Good knowledge and experience safely operating construction equipment.
• Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance.
• Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen on the jobsite, inspectors, customers, and the public.
• Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds.
• Properly use safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Drive trucks to and from job sites, unload structural members of tower and electrical hardware.
• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of streetlights, traffic signals, power lines, and related facilities.
• Dig trenches, place underground conduits and junction boxes, tamp trench areas, and pour concrete for pole foundations.
• Embed loop detectors and possibly trim trees or clear undergrowth along right-of-way.
• Work safely around trenchers, backhoes, track hoes, plows, line trucks, bucket trucks, bobcat loaders, etc.
• Transport equipment to and from job sites safely and support the crew to complete work orders.
