Job summary

InterCon Construction, Inc. is seeking to hire skilled laborers to join a crew installing underground telecommunications and fiber optic cables in Madison, WI.

You will prepare sites, locate utilities and coordinate with operators to move equipment safely throughout daily tasks. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license (Class A CDL preferred), and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Class A CDL preferred (required in some cases).
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stand and walk for long periods.
• Capability to lift/push/pull 50 pounds regularly.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in underground utilities is preferred.
• Experience installing fiber optic cables is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work site to locate utilities and identify hazards.
• Signal operators to coordinate movement and alignment of equipment.
• Load, unload and transport construction materials and tools.
• Excavate and fill trenches and ditches as needed.
• Install underground telecommunications cable and innerduct.
• Follow all safety standards throughout the job.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
