Job summary

Barminco Mining Services is seeking an Underground Electrician for a project located about 65 miles outside Elko, Nevada. You will be responsible for electrical support across underground and surface equipment, following US electrical codes and safety standards.

Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, you will install, repair and maintain high-voltage systems, substations, and control systems while adhering to safety procedures on a 7-days-on/7-days-off schedule. Camp and meals are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalency
• 3-5 years of experience underground as an Underground Electrician
• Journeyman Electrician certification consideration for 4th year apprentices
• Knowledge of Mining Safety and Health Act and US Electrical Code
• Experience with high voltage power distribution systems and motor control centers
• Ability to work independently or in a team in a fast-paced environment
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics and blueprints
• Maintain and calibrate electrical systems and equipment

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Mine site safety rules and maintain safety of others
• Install, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, boxes, conduits and lighting
• Maintain underground HV supply, dewatering, ventilation and services systems
• Test electrical components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
• Maintain substations, switchgear, transformers and switchboard meters
• Troubleshoot electrical and electronic control systems and automation
• Document shift activities and produce required reports
• Provide professional relationship with employees, subcontractors and client
