Job summary

Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for an Underground Shift Supervisor to join a project located 65 miles outside of Elko, Nevada. The role reports to the Mine Foreman and focuses on safety, quality, and efficient underground operations.

The position requires prior underground development supervision experience, valid First Aid, and strong knowledge of mining regulations. Camp-style living, meals, and travel assistance are provided, with a 14/14 rotation schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience as an underground shift supervisor in a hard rock mine.
• Maintain valid First Aid certification.
• Read and understand mining instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment with professionalism.
• Thorough knowledge of Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze, resolve problems and make decisions.
• Ability to stay organized while handling multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the Barminco team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure understanding and compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
• Supervise daily underground mining activities and development work.
• Train and mentor team members in best practices.
• Lead pre-shift safety and operations meetings.
• Oversee rock support installation and maintenance of mine infrastructure.
• Plan and coordinate mining equipment and activities with the mine plan.
• Provide daily instructions and monitor progress for safety and efficiency.
• Perform supervisor checks, logbook reviews, and safety audits.
• Maintain accurate development reports and data documentation.
• Make sound decisions when conditions change.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and available for maintenance cycles.
• Report unsafe conditions and participate in incident investigations.
• Maintain professional relationships with the workforce and partners.
• Operate underground equipment and assist with early-stage mine growth.
