Job summary

The Louisville Gas and Electric Company is seeking a supervisor to oversee the installation and maintenance of underground distribution cables and related facilities in the Louisville area.

Responsibilities include supervising installation of underground cables, transformers, switchgear, conduits, and related equipment; evaluating employee performance; conducting investigations; and ensuring compliance with safety and construction standards. 5+ years in electric distribution is required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in a related field or equivalent education/experience.
• 5+ years experience in electric distribution overhead and underground systems.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards and construction procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervises installation and maintenance of underground distribution cables and related facilities.
• Supervises transformers, switchgear and general distribution equipment.
• Supervises conduit lines, manholes, transformer vaults and subgrade equipment.
• Evaluates employee performance and recommends promotions or disciplinary actions.
• Conducts fact finding investigations and answers first step grievances.
• Conducts tailgate sessions on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Ensures that all established departmental construction standards and safety rules are followed.
• Maintains employee records (e.g., attendance, overtime, progressive disciplinary action, etc.).
