Job summary

The Boring Company seeks an EHS leader to support tunneling operations and proactively manage risk in underground environments. You’ll be embedded with field teams to ensure compliance, drive safe behaviors, and improve health, safety, and environmental outcomes.

A strong field presence in confined spaces and around heavy equipment is essential. Responsibilities include monitoring daily field operations, conducting inspections and JHAs, leading incident investigations and corrective actions, and

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in construction or heavy industrial EHS roles (tunneling, mining, or oil & gas preferred).
• Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA preferred, confined space, LOTO, and respiratory protection standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily field operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations and company policies.
• Perform regular tunnel and surface inspections, including pre-shift walkthroughs, equipment checks, air quality sampling, and confined space protocols.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventative action implementation.
• Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, and toolbox talks with crews.
• Maintain EHS documentation, training records, and regulatory reports.
• Support emergency response preparedness and training exercises.
• Collaborate with superintendents, miners, and technicians to identify and mitigate job-specific risks.
