Job summary

Xcel Energy in Saint Paul, MN is seeking an Apprentice Cable Splicer Mechanic to build and repair underground distribution systems at the St. Paul Service Center.

Starting pay is 37.36 per hour with access to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more. You will train through an apprenticeship while contributing to safe, reliable energy delivery.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to participate in an apprenticeship.
• Must meet Driver Qualification requirements including a valid CDL Class A.
• Must be capable of performing underground construction and maintenance.
• Must be available for emergency call-outs and overtime.
• Must have effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain, and repair underground distribution systems.
• Perform underground construction and maintenance on company assets.
• Maintain vaults, pull cable, and splice conductors as needed.
• Participate in training and complete related paperwork promptly.
