Job summary

Xcel Energy in Saint Paul, MN is hiring one or more Gas Street Apprentices for the St. Paul Service Center. These positions involve installation, repair, and maintenance of the gas distribution system in the East Metro Minnesota area.

Expect hands-on, physical work with emphasis on safety and reliability. Minimum requirements include the ability to read maps, coordinate tasks, and work under pressure. A valid Class A CDL and DOT compliance are required; training on safety and construction

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand distribution maps, design drawings, procedures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills for field work.
• Ability to coordinate multiple work activities and priorities.
• Familiarity with Company Operating, Construction and Safety Standards.
• Willingness to learn computer applications used in the field (mobile devices).

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation, repair and maintenance of the gas distribution system.
• Read maps and procedures to provide information to field personnel.
