Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance of portfolio company-level internal data entry to support PE reports.
• Manage newly onboarded student Analysts and support their development.
• Guide discussion in weekly PEC Analyst Team meetings and present portfolio managers.
• Build bi-annual detailed reporting package on fund performance and plan outlines.
• Attend PEC monthly update calls and lead cash flow presentation preparation.
• Conduct due diligence and analysis on prospective opportunities and reference checks.
• Identify and propose improvements to analyst team processes.
• Assist with special reports, research, and ad-hoc opportunities.
• Take on additional responsibilities as required.

TITLE Undergraduate Senior Analyst, Private Equity Committee (PEC)

PAY RATE $25/hour

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Babson College Private Equity Committee (PEC) serves as a sub-committee of the Babson College Endowment and is responsible for selecting and managing the Endowment's investments in private equity and venture capital funds. Since its inception in 2010, the PEC has committed over $290M to eighteen PE & VC firms and over eighty individual fund vehicles. The PEC is comprised of alumni, faculty, and full-time staff, and is supported by a select group of student analysts. The Undergraduate Senior Analyst role is held by current PEC Undergraduate Analysts who have completed at least one year in the program and continue working part-time during their remaining years of full-time study. Undergraduate Senior Analysts manage the newly onboarded student Analysts, reporting directly to the Senior Investment Associate and having weekly contact with the Investment Director. Senior Analysts operate with a high degree of independence, owning deliverables end to end and serving as the first point of contact for the Undergraduate Analysts, with the Senior Investment Associate providing review and oversight rather than day-to-day direction.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead maintenance of portfolio company-level internal data entry to support all PE analytical reports.
• Manage the newly onboarded student Analysts and support their development within the program.
• Guide discussion in the weekly PEC Analyst Team meeting, including presentation and discussion of portfolio investment managers and market research.
• Guide the build out of the bi-annual detailed reporting package on aggregate and individual fund performance, including planning the outline, dividing work across the analyst team, and generating ideas for new analyses.
• Attend the PEC's monthly update calls, lead preparation of the presentation, and present cash flow materials.
• Conduct due diligence and analysis on prospective investment opportunities. Specific diligence responsibilities may include investment memos, performance and portfolio analyses, and reference checks.
• Identify and propose ways to improve the analyst team's internal processes.
• Assist with special reports, research, and other ad-hoc opportunities, as necessary.
• Assume additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED

• Current PEC Undergraduate Analyst who has completed at least one year in the program.
• Allocator, PE, or VC experience required.
• Demonstrated strong performance in the Undergraduate Analyst role, including engagement across the PE and VC strategies in the portfolio.
• Familiarity with PE and VC reporting and analytics.
• Working proficiency in Excel.
• Ability to train and give feedback to peer analysts.
• Ability to present to the Committee.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be detail-oriented with impeccable follow-through capacity.
• Strong work ethic, team player, passion for investing, and highest ethical standards.

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK

Hybrid, Boston/Wellesley. This is a part-time student employee position requiring approximately 30-40 hours per month, beginning Fall 2026 and continuing during the Senior Analyst's remaining years of full-time study. The role includes leading the weekly PEC Analyst Team meeting discussion and attending the PEC's monthly update calls.
