Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) invites undergraduate students to join the Center for Global Security Research (CGSR) as a research associate for a three-to-four month summer program in 2027. Qualifications

• Must be eligible to access LLNL per NDAA 3112 requirements.
• Enrolled in a relevant field such as international relations, security, political science, economics, public policy, emerging technologies, nonproliferation, energy, biosecurity, or related areas.
• Demonstrated academic or professional achievement in CGSR analytic priorities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an independent research project aligned with CGSR/LLNL priorities under CGSR supervision.
• Contribute to ongoing research activities (literature reviews, annotated bibliographies, workshop reports).
• Attend research seminars, speaker series, and workshops; present findings to LLNL staff.
• Prepare end-of-assignment technical report or publication.
