Job summary

UC San Diego seeks an experienced Student Services Advisor to manage the undergraduate program, providing advising, curriculum management, course administration and registration oversight in a busy academic environment.

You will serve as liaison to campus departments, evaluate degree checks and petitions, and support policy development for the undergraduate program; collaborate with the Undergraduate Affairs Committee, handle confidential information with discretion, and ensure timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of advising and counseling techniques; ability to explain university regulations, procedures and policies to students.
• Familiarity with ISIS, TritonLink, Blink, IFIS and related university databases.
• Knowledge of undergraduate processes, course scheduling, and student employment policies.
• Understanding UC and UCSD policies related to travel, accounting, and entertainment.
• Strong interpersonal skills; tact, diplomacy, humor, flexibility; handle confidential matters.
• Multicultural competence; work with diverse populations; strong written and verbal communication.
• Service orientation, organization, active listening, critical thinking.
• Problem identification and reasoning.
• Multi-tasking and handling changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide advising and administration for the undergraduate program.
• Manage curriculum, course administration and implementation.
• Handle class scheduling and registration processes.
