Job summary

AdventHealth Orlando seeks a Nursing Education Coordinator to develop and evaluate recruitment for preceptors and scholars, educate staff on preceptor roles, and coordinate the preceptorship program across healthcare partnerships. You will liaise on contracts, maintain data systems, and deliver clinical instruction and assessments.

You will support students with academic progression, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in accreditation efforts while maintaining confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates recruitment plans for preceptors, DEU scholars, and adjuncts.
• Provides staff education on mentor and preceptor roles to nursing students.
• Represents the nursing program at meetings to engage potential health care providers and preceptors.
• Coordinates the preceptorship program with the Vice Chair and executive staff.
• Liaises with AHU Contract Manager for contract review, signature, renewal, and retention.
• Develops orientation materials for current, new, and prospective preceptors.
• Maintains databases of student assignments, preceptors, adjunct faculty, DEU scholars, clinical sites, and site evaluations.
• Designs and delivers high-quality instruction and course materials including syllabi and assignments.
• Assesses student performance through grading, feedback, and evaluations.
• Provides academic support and mentorship to students on progression and career pathways.
• Participates in curriculum development and accreditation preparation.
• Develops clinical curriculum, assigns students to clinical sites, and supervises theory-to-practice application.
• Contributes to program accreditation and institutional effectiveness.
• Identifies and documents student performance concerns and implements remediation plans.
• Participates in committees and represents the university at events.
• Engages in teaching, service, and scholarly activities and pursues professional development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

• Communicates with preceptors and develops, updates, and implements comprehensive orientation materials and information packets for current, new, and prospective preceptors.
• Maintains databases of student assignments, preceptors, adjunct faculty, DEU scholars, clinical sites, and site evaluations.
• Designs, develops, and delivers high-quality instruction and course materials including syllabi, assessments, and clinical assignments.
• Assesses student performance through timely grading, feedback, office hours, clinical, and formal evaluation.
• Provides academic support to students through regular communication, individualized assistance, and targeted intervention strategies, including referrals to appropriate support services.
• Advises students on academic progression, course planning, and career pathways, while providing mentorship in research, clinical practice, or field-based learning as applicable.
• Participates in curriculum development and review, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards, and supports assessment planning.
• Develops and evaluates clinical curriculum, assigns students to appropriate clinical sites and labs, provides orientation, and supervises the application of theory to practice in the clinical setting.
• Contributes to program accreditation efforts and institutional effectiveness activities.
• Identifies and documents student performance or conduct concerns, implements appropriate remediation plans, and follows institutional policies for disciplinary action or dismissal when warranted.
• Participates in institutional committees and initiatives and represents the university at professional, community, and recruitment events as needed.
• Engages in teaching, service, and scholarly activities while maintaining active membership in professional organizations and pursuing ongoing professional development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
