Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida is seeking a dedicated instructor to develop and deliver course content in collaboration with the course coordinator. The role involves preparing syllabi, guiding students, and contributing to teaching, service, scholarship, and research activities.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate-level credits in the relevant discipline, proficiency with online and face-to-face delivery, and a commitment to serving a diverse student

Qualifications

• Master's degree plus at least 18 graduate-level credit hours in the discipline being taught.
• Experience with both in-person and online instruction.
• Ability to work with an ethnically diverse student body.

Responsibilities

• Develops, designs, and delivers instruction in collaboration with the course coordinator.
• Provides course syllabi in collaboration with the course coordinator.
• Mentors and advises students, reviews evaluations, and meets deadlines for testing and grading.
• Ensures department policies and accreditation standards are maintained.

Job Description:

Develops, designs, and delivers instruction in collaboration with the course coordinator. Provides course syllabi for instruction in collaboration with the course coordinator. Engages in the academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship, and research. Grades examinations and assignments, reviews evaluations with students, and meets all established deadlines for testing, assignments, and grade submissions. Advises and mentors students, formulating and administering student competencies as needed. Reviews and assists with revisions needed for department policies, procedures and accreditation. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to work in both a face-to-face and online teaching environment [Required]
• Knowledge of computer based academic delivery systems [Required]
• Ability to work with an ethnically diverse student body [Required]

Education:

• Master's a minimum of 18 graduate-level semester hours of credit in the discipline(s) being taught [Required]

Field of Study:

• Degree at or above the degree level of the course being taught, from a regionally-accredited academic institution
• A minimum of 18 graduate-level semester hours of credit in the discipline(s) being taught
• Meet the standards set by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges and Universities
