Job summary

Fairmont State University seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure-track chemistry faculty position beginning in August 2027 in our ACS-approved chemistry program. Applicants must have a Ph.D.

in biochemistry or closely related field prior to the start date. The successful applicant will teach foundational biochemistry and advanced biochemistry courses and laboratories, and collaborate on curriculum development for a BS degree in biochemistry.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. (or ABD) in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field.
• Research agenda appropriate for undergraduate STEM majors.

Responsibilities

• Teach foundational and advanced biochemistry courses and laboratories.
• Collaborate on biochemistry curriculum development for the BS degree.
• Teach introductory chemistry lectures and laboratories as needed.
• Mentor undergraduate student projects and clubs.
• Serve on committees and participate in program activities.
• Maintain instrumentation and shared laboratory spaces.
• Contribute to program assessment and scholarly activity.
