Top Guard Security, Inc. in Virginia Beach, VA seeks an experienced Unarmed Security Shift Supervisor. You will supervise security staff, conduct patrols, monitor surveillance, and respond to incidents while upholding company policies and safety standards.

Role requires leadership experience, a clean driving record, and a DCJS Unarmed card (or willingness to be trained). Shift options include 12-hour rotations with day and night coverage; benefits are available for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• DCJS Unarmed card or willingness to obtain via training.
• Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
• Background in military, law enforcement, or corrections OR at least 1 year security experience.
• Leadership experience in security or supervisory role.
• Willing to train in pepper spray, tasers, and handcuffs where approved.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification or willingness to complete.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct security personnel during assigned shifts.
• Conduct regular patrols and monitor surveillance systems.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and security threats promptly.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
• Train and mentor officers to uphold safety standards.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Maintain reports of incidents and shift activities.
• Conduct inspections and provide improvement recommendations.
• Lead and motivate team; manage high-pressure situations calmly.
• Utilize Genetec security software for administration.

Job Skills / Requirements

Pay: $24 hr

Location: Lynnhaven area of Virginia Beach

Must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license, and have either military, law enforcement, or corrections background, or at least 1 year security experience.

• Availability:12-hour shifts, A/C shift 6am-6pm, rotating between 36 and 48 hours every other week. (A) week is 4 days on, 3 days off. (C) week is 3 days on, 4 days off.
• Availability: 12-hour shifts, B/D shift 6pm-6am, rotating between 36 and 48 hours every other week. (B) week is 4 days on, 3 days off. (D) week is 3 days on, 4 days off

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct security personnel during assigned shifts.
• Conduct regular patrols and monitor surveillance systems to prevent security breaches.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and security threats.
• Ensure compliance with company security policies and procedures.
• Train and mentor security officers to uphold safety standards.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services when required.
• Maintain accurate reports of security incidents and shift activities.
• Conduct security inspections and provide recommendations for improvement.
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Leadership experience in a security or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.
• Proficient with Genetec security software administration.

• Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) Private Security Certification or willingness to be trained in the use of pepper spray, tasers, and handcuffs through a certified training program.
• CPR/AED/ First Aid certification or willingness to complete a training program with a certified instructor.
